Congrats to Air Assault Factory of Maple Plain, MN

Event #2 is June 2th & 3rd at Xtreme Paintball Park in Millstadt, IL
Teams only need to play of the first 3 events & the Championship Sept 8th / 9th to go for the series championship

What this means is that two different teams could win event 2 & 3, and be competing against Air Assault at final event.

Looking at other people’s collections and back at my own makes me want to start buying, selling, trading, and collecting again. I currently only own ONE gun. (Bob Long MVP)

We fought hard yesterday in over 100 degree weather (Which I will take any day over the rain/mud) but didn’t make it out of prelims. We did beat the Tennesse Trueballers 2-0, then I managed to get a major penalty in our first game against Kamandag, we almost had them in our 2nd game but they were able to push the snake and win the match. In our first match against BlitzRPL we had an early start and were pentalized, the 2nd game I we won with five alive, they ended up beating us in the third game and ended up in 5th over all. The last team we played was TPG, whom ended up winning the event.

1st – Those Pump Guys (TPG)
2nd – Blitz
3rd – Tennessee Trueballers
4th – Kamandag Fatal Hit
5th – BlitzRPL.com

9th – Zero, all we needed was one more win and we would have moved on which makes that major penalty hurt so much more.

http://paintball-players.org/scores/L1/E2163/scores/s5_c15.html

The competition out here was top notch, the event was very well ran, and PHX is a great venue to go to. I would come back again next year

It is of my opinion that there are too many divisions in paintball now. When I started there was pro, amateur & novice. Now we’ve got not only pro, d1,2,3,4 & even 5 but also multiple format options at the same events. You can do race to 2 or race to 4/5/7 in PSP. Now the NPPL offers 7-Man, and Race to 4 5-man for same divisions. So instead of having a lot of teams in one division we’ve got lots of divisions with less teams.

Look at PSP Phx – http://www.paintball-players.org/cgi-bin/showteams.cgi?LID=1&EID=2163 – D3 race to 2 only has 3 teams! D4 race to 4 only has 8, had it been combined with the D4 Race to 2 there would be a total of 25 teams. If those 3 teams from D3 race to 2 would play Race to 4 the total would be 30 for that division

The PSP offers 9 different divisions for one tournament

The NPPL is setup the same way, http://www.nppl.com/rankings in HB they ran 7 divisions and were trying to do even more. This is also the largest event of the year, yet the Division 3 5-man only attracted 4 teams.

I think they need to eliminate the extra formats, and get down to a standardized format for each league so there isn’t overlap in divisions, they should also get rid of the lowest division and encourage or require players to move up.

If there was a universal leader board for both players & teams based on points it would help motivate people to play at higher levels.
