How long have you been playing paintball and how did you get started?
I started playing with my friends back when Northside used to be called DieHard Paintball. One of my buddies was cousins with Bryan and Steve the old owners.
What was paintball like back when you started, and how has it changed for you over the years?
When I started playing there was alot more Novice and Am teams playing paintball. My first tournement i played i was in the novice division. Now it seems like all the teams just want to sit and play in the rookie division and never move up.
Why do you play paintball?
I havent actually played full time in two years but i do miss playing. but i always played because it was fun to me. Just playing and hanging out with the team there isn’t anything better.
What do people say when you tell them that you play paintball?
it used to be really whats that now most people have a little clue of what paintball is.
What is your home field, and what does it have to offer?
Air Assault Paintball it is the best field in the state. Good prices friendly staff
What tournament series & division do you currently play in?
the last tournement i played in was the Air Assault Three man last spring. with a couple kids from northside in the rookie division since there would of only been one other team in the noivice division.
What teams have you played for in the past? And who do you play for now?
I started playing for magnum and the last team I played for was AAF
How often do you practice per week and how far do you have to travel to practice?
When i was playing for Air Assualt we would have a full weekend practice twice a month. i would drive five hours one way to play for a weekend. i would also like to thank the G for letting a bunch of clowns run around and shoot each other and to take us to events.
What was your greatest achievement so far in your paintball career? What events have you won?
Being one of the original Air Assault Factory team memebers. numerous local events. took third place in boston NPPL in 2007 with AAF
What was the best prize package you’ve ever won?
The event I came out the most ahead on was the Walrus Cup 2007 with Blake and Chopp i think we shot 3 cases the whole event and won a grand.
What is your best memory in paintball?
most likely Walrus cup 2007 drinking guns and paintball and staying at a sweet ass cabin. also all the times at events just hanging out with the my team members. also in Boston 07 as brent would say deraleek and blake where putting on clinics on the angel field. and all the times Jay and seth would blow up at each other at practice those were always good to watch.
What keeps you playing paintball?
Money and Time keep me out of paintball but i try to show up to a couple local events a year.
What gun do you use, and why do you like it?
I still have my air assault 09 team ego. it is one of the nicest shooting guns i have had. I also like to use my phantom and my ans cocker.
What suggestions do you have for new players?
keep playing and dont let brent scare you he is just a big clown. sorry brent if i ruined your street cred.
Describe your style of play on the field.
up the center i liked playing the spike in the NPPL style fields
Are there any people who have been influential on your playing style? Who are they and how have they impacted your game?
There are alot of then Brent Jay Seth Damo Sam i adapted Damo’s style the most go create a mess and get your one guy and let the other team members clean it up. As we used to call it time to rev up the general lee.
What do you think your greatest strength in paintball is? What do you need improvement on?
The fact that I didn’t care if I got blown up as long as we won the game. stop doing stupid shit on the field.
What position do you currently play on the field? Why do you think your team has placed you in that role?
When I play it is where ever anyone on the team doesnt want to play.
What do you think needs to happen in Minnesota to develop divisional teams that will be able to compete nationally?
get the original AAF back.
Outside of paintball, what do you do for a living?
I work in New Mexico during the summer as a wildlife biologist and when i go back to school i work at a subway to pay for the rent and beer.
